O.K., I’ve been talking for quite some time about starting a new blog. I am finally ready to begin!!
I am switching to WordPress instead of using Blogspot. Many of you who are blog savvy (which I am not) will understand this completely. Others of you who just read blogs will wonder what I’m talking about and why it matters. (I’m more in this group).
So, let me try to explain. I’m going to give you several reasons why I’m switching.
1. Because I have completely lost my mind. I have enough on my plate right now without adding something else but this is typical for me!
2. I like a challenge and this has been challenging for me. Of course, I didn’t design the blog, Katie at FlibbyPieDesign did, but I had to tell her what I wanted and now I have to figure out WordPress. (Let me just say if you are looking for someone to design your blog Katie was wonderful to work with, and I would highly recommend her.)
3. Peer pressure. Plain and simple. Several people seemed to be switching and so I wanted to. I admit it. (Also, Sarah Mae at Like a Warm Cup of Coffee thought I should. She is a blog consultant and you can find her here. I also highly recommend her.)
4. I wanted a change (imagine that, you would think I had had enough change in my life, I shared about that here). I wanted something clean, crisp, user friendly etc.
5. I was told it would be easier for me to post, add pictures, get connected with other bloggers, etc. We’ll see!!
6. Many people tell me they would like to leave a comment but they can’t figure out how to. You will now be able to as long as you have an email address. Yeah!!
7. Lastly, it’s sooooooo much easier to tell people to go to cyndispivey.com versus lovinlifeasapastorswife-cyndi.blogspot.com. I am excited about this!!

Can life get any busier??? Sometimes I wish I could call a time out! I want to stop life for a day, an hour or even a moment and savor everything that is going on……..spring and all the beautiful trees and flowers, wedding plans, and times with sweet friends and family.
Courtney had another wedding shower with some very special friends from our last church where we served for fifteen years. These people are like family to us and anytime we get to see them is (as my Mom would say) a “blessing”.
On Sunday we were thrilled to have my husband’s family come and visit. We were celebrating my mother and father in laws 63rd wedding anniversary. Yes, I said 63rd. Isn’t that amazing!!!

They were able to come and worship with us on Sunday morning (they love to hear their son preach) and then we went to one of my favorites places to eat.
It’s a Historic Bed and Breakfast Inn. They serve a delicious brunch with traditional Kentucky cuisine.
I’m so blessed to have such a wonderful mother and father in law and what a testimony of marriage!
Can I just say I want to be married to my man for 63 years!!

This Easter the SON was shining and the SUN was shining! I enjoyed both very much!
I love to celebrate that my Savior is alive!! Death could not contain Him!
A song by David Crowder kept popping up in my head all weekend. As most of you know, I lost my Mom to cancer in September 2009. While Mom was sick and we were making lots of visits to doctor’s offices we would listen to Christian radio in the car while we drove.
I can remember listening to this song as I was driving, with my Mom sitting in the passenger seat.
I remember thinking, “I know He loves me, but why am I here going through this?”
I would have to remind myself that Christ died on a cross to save me, a sinner, and any suffering that I go through cannot compare to what He has gone through.
I love Romans 5:3-5, it says, “We also have joy with our troubles, because we know that these troubles produce patience. And patience produces character, and character produces hope. And this hope will never disappoint us, because God has poured out his love to fill our hearts. He gave us his love through the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to us.” NCV
That’s it, because of Easter we have Hope and it will not disappoint us!
Easter 2010, our first Easter without Mom.
Thankful that He’s Alive,
The clock is ticking. Tick Tock, Tick Tock, Tick Tock. It reminds me that the time is drawing nearer. Things are going to change.
Change……..I don’t like that word. The changes have been difficult for me this past year. Now another one is coming.
These are reminders to me that change is coming.
A wedding shower…….
The first fitting and alterations of the dress……..
And this…………Her shelf in our cabinet.
I opened it last night and smiled. It has all her “stuff” she likes to eat. No one else is supposed to touch it (no one else in my house would want to touch it). There are Luna bars, wheat bran, cinnamon, Agave nectar, Nutella, Slim-Fast bars, etc.
Soon this shelf, like all of her stuff will be gone. She will begin her new life as Mrs. Rogers.
I’m not losing a daughter, I’m gaining a son (so everyone tells me).
I can do this, right?
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6
I can do everything through Him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13
And my God will meet all your needs according to he glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
So thankful He never changes!

As I think about this Holy Week I’m reminded that He was thinking of me as He journeyed towards the cross.
The pain He was going to suffer he did it willingly…………. for me.
I did nothing to deserve His grace and love. I deserve death and yet He has given me eternal life.
He was thinking of you too!
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this; While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
His grace and love is for everyone who will accept Him.
That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
Thanking Him today for saving a sinner like me!!

One of the great blessings of seasons is change, and after a cold, damp, dark winter, spring is a welcome change.
Unfortunately, as the weather begins to change and the sun begins to shine, it sparkles through my windows that are less than clean. I’m reminded that I need to do some spring cleaning.
I heard a recent poll that said 58% of women spring clean which includes window washing, cleaning blinds, cleaning the refrigerator, microwave, walls and baseboards, etc.
Something about spring makes us want to clean out; we want the freshness of the outside to be felt on the inside of our home.
As I was thinking about doing some spring cleaning on my home I began to think of my heart. Psalm 51:10 came to my mind. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
I sometimes need God to do some spring cleaning in me. Is my heart pure? Are there any sins I need to confess before the Lord? Any unwanted bitterness or anger?
I searched for other scriptures to use during my quiet time with the Lord and these are a few that I found.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Psalm 139:23
Test me, O Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind. Psalm 26:2
My prayer this spring is that as I clean my home that I will allow God to clean my heart. I want my heart to be pleasing to Him!
